Purpose, Mission & Vision

SHRM-LI is a professional HR organization that provides a community for thought leadership, education, professional development, sharing knowledge, and creating innovative solutions while supporting human resource professionals.

Our purpose is to elevate the HR profession

Our mission is to advance and serve the human resource professional by inspiring, influencing, developing, and driving meaningful leadership and HR expertise for our members and the community

To be Long Island’s premier human resource organization

Our Core Values

Our core values are the standards that drive our behavior and decision making in all our endeavors.  As an organization compiled of HR professionals we are committed to:

  • Envisioning a culture of diversity and inclusion that values and embraces our differences because our differences contribute to make each one of us better
  • Engaging with our members and the HR community by providing significant and meaningful networking opportunities that will build and develop strategic and collaborative partnerships
  • Educating our members as a learning organization to build HR competencies to help enhance their role as a trusted advisor and valued strategic business partner
  • Empowering our members to grow and develop as they lead by example in achieving excellence

SHRM-LI is governed by an Executive Board and propelled by an impressive group of forward-thinking and committed individuals that serve as Volunteer Chapter Leaders and Volunteer Committee Members.

Why volunteer?

By becoming a SHRM-LI Volunteer you will become a valuable member of a community that wants to share their knowledge and experience to help our Members advance in their profession.  In so doing, you will also grow and learn, and summon talents and ideas that will conversely help you advance in your own profession.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the President of SHRM-LI at PRESIDENT@SHRMLI.ORG.
