MENTORING: Advocate For Change in a Change-Dodging World
People dodge change because (1) they don’t think they need to, or (2) they believe it comes with fated pain and suffering. But a change-free workforce is not only stagnant, it’s riddled with mediocrity. When you are charged with advocating or managing a change-dodging workforce, you need a tool to transform, not just transact. There’s only one that is cost-effective, time-efficient, scalable, sustainable, simple, and significant: Mentoring. Join us to discover the 7 steps to using mentoring to support any future change management initiative. We’ll look at best practices, easy ways to get started, and how to engage everyone in the process. In this session you will architect your own mentoring initiative ready to implement on Monday morning! Ann Tardy, Founder and President of LifeMoxie Mentoring

VIRTUAL TEAMS Now & In The Future
SESSION III Workshop G (3:15pm – 4:30pm) Jackson Lewis Legal Workshop
THE FUTURE OF THE LONG ISLAND EMPLOYER: Winning Through Diversity
Effective corporate diversity and inclusion (“D&I”) programs are widely regarded as a competitive advantage. HR professionals are called upon to develop support for, create, and implement D&I programs that help achieve corporate objectives. They often have to overcome assertions that D&I programs violate anti-discrimination laws. This seminar will demonstrate how strong D&I programs improve productivity and employee engagement, help establish a company as an “employer of choice,” and enhance business performance; dispel myths that D&I programs violate anti-discrimination laws or are otherwise unlawful; provide strategies that the HR professional can use to build the “business case” for D&I to address, and ultimately secure CEO and senior executive support – and sponsorship – for D&I programs; and identify best practices for decreasing the risk of discrimination litigation and challenges to D&I programs.
