As the Society for Human Resource Management-Long Island Chapter (SHRM-LI)
enters our 21st year of providing HR Professionals and their industry supporters
an opportunity to come together for a day at our Exhibitors’ Showcase and Workshops,
our focus this year will be on ADVOCACY….providing a variety of tools
that HR Professionals can utilize for their FUTURE success.
We all need to become our own ADVOCATE, whether that is as a “Mentor”,
as explained by Ann Tardy in our Keynote Breakfast Workshop; or by “Branding”
ourselves to management, as taught by Maria Guida during her Breakout Workshop.
Each of us can ADVOCATE to our elected officials so that they better understand the
profession…and who better to show us how to effectively make our HR voice heard
then SHRM’s Senior Associate for Member Advocacy, David M. Lusk.
Rounding out our Breakout Workshops will be Yael Zofi, showing us that there is
a new face to the workforce…“Virtual Teams”…now and in the FUTURE.
Our Conference will close with a special Legal Workshop presented by Jackson Lewis LLP’s
Washington, D.C. based Corporate Diversity Counseling Group Chair,
Weldon H. Latham, Esq.
